Our In-House Team Program is designed to provide an alternative for players who can't or don't want to commit to traveling during the club season. In 2023-24 we will offer the Juniors age group (12U and younger) only in Pickens, with practices at Pickens Rec. Due to very limited roster spots, we will have a tryout for this program in Pickens. The team will be composed of 9-11 players and one coach. The In-House Team season lasts approximately 15 weeks, from mid November to mid March.
Before registering, please view the USAV Age Definitions for 2023-24 to determine your athletes' age group. Athletes MUST fall in the 12U or younger age groups in order to participate in this program. If you fall in the 13U age group or older, please explore our Club Team Programs.
Program Description
Our In-House Teams are a great choice for beginning players looking to improve their volleyball skills and knowledge. The In-House program is also open to players who are not selected for a travel team as long as capacity limitations allow it.
The season will run approximately 15 weeks total. The first part of the season (mid November-late December) will include 1 practice per week, and coaches will focus on teaching individual volleyball skills and building players' confidence on and off the volleyball court. The second part of the season will begin in January. Practices will continue once a week, and coaches will introduce and develop team skills while also maintaining individual skills.
Juniors teams will participate in multiple Kidz Power tournaments that are half-day tournaments playing other Kidz Power teams in the Palmetto Region. Scrimmages and tournaments could take place on Saturdays or Sundays so please consult the schedule below.

Investment
Cost for the 2023-24 Carolina One In-House teams is $600 and includes all practices, scrimmages, tournament fees, coaching fees, jersey, shorts, and practice t-shirts (2). The program fee is payable in two installments of $315 each, or a discounted lump sum payment of $600. If paying by installments, the first installment is at team acceptance and the second installment is due December 31. Jerseys will be distributed in late December or early January. Additional gear will be available for purchase on the Carolina One store. That store will be opened at a later date.
Schedule
Pickens In-House Tryouts: Sunday, Oct. 22, 1:30-3:30pm @ Pickens Rec (545 Sangamo Road, Pickens, SC 29671)
The In-house tryout will be a low-pressure, great way to meet coaches, other players, and allow our staff to determine the players we can accept into the program. Due to program popularity in Pickens and limited gym space, we have a very limited capacity and unfortunately may have to turn players away if we exceed that capacity.
The Pickens In-House team's first practice will occur in Mid November at Pickens Rec (545 Sangamo Road, Pickens, SC). All practices will occur for this program on Sundays at Pickens Rec. Practice times are TBA.
Registration
There are three steps to register for an In-House Team. You must register prior to the tryout date of Oct. 23 to be considered for the program. We expect the team to fill and unfortunately may have to waitlist some players.
1. Register with Carolina One Registration will open 9/1/23
Make sure to choose the Pickens In-House location - there are 2 separate programs. One for Greenville In-House Teams and one for Pickens In-House Teams. Once you choose the program you want to sign up for, you will be asked to create an account in the Sports Connect system. If you have participated in any program with us in the last five years, you should have an existing account and can simply login. Otherwise you will need to create a new one. When registering, please set up the account under the person financially responsible for the account (parent or guardian). Once registered, you will be able to add family members to your account (players). After adding all children to your account, you will see available registration options for them based on their birthdates.
NOTE: You must fill out and upload the USAV 2023-24 Medical Release Form [PDF Version] or [Microsoft Word Version] during the registration process. You can scan or take a picture of the form once completed in order to upload it. This is mandatory to be able to participate in tryouts.
2. Register or renew your registration with the Palmetto Region. (registration opens Sept. 1 - not required for program registration).
All players must initially sign up for a "Tryout Membership" ($15). Once the program has started, you will receive an invitation through the SportsEngine system to associate your account with Carolina One in the USAV/SportsEngine system and to upgrade to a full Palmetto Region membership. This gets confusing for most so to start try to register for a Tryout Membership via the Region or wait for Director Lauren to contact the entire program once registration has completed and the season has started. A full $50 USAV Season Membership is required to participate in the program to comply with USAV and Palmetto Region policies.
3. Review the C1 Club Policies (coming soon) for our In-House program. You will be asked to sign a commitment form agreeing to follow the C1 Club Policies when your athlete accepts a spot in the In-House program.
