In-House Team Program

A note about the 2020-21 Club Season:
This season will be unlike any other, due to the uncertainty and unknown that the COVID-19 pandemic has created. We are still planning to have a club season, and are working on details including tryout dates and times, team offerings, tournament schedules, team costs, COVID protocols, etc. There are a lot of questions that we don't have answers to right now, and we appreciate everyone's patience and understanding. We will continue to keep these primary goals at the forefront of all we do: the safety of participants, offering a variety of team levels/schedules to fit all family's needs, and communicating quickly and efficiently when changes happen (and they will happen!). Please stay tuned to our website and social media accounts for updates. We aim to post tentative season details and tryout registration by September 15. Please note that all information is tentative, and dependent on regional, USAV, state, and local guidelines and laws.

Overview

Our In-House Team Program is designed to provide an alternative for players who can't or don't want to commit to traveling during the club season. In 2020-21 we plan to offer this program exclusively in Greenville. No tryouts are required for this program, and players will be placed on teams based on their age and ability level. Teams will be composed of 8-10 players and one coach. The In-House Team season lasts approximately 12 weeks, from mid November to mid/late February.

The In-House Program will have three age divisions:

  • Juniors - 12U and younger age groups
  • **NEW to 2020** Middle School - 13U and 14U age groups
  • **NEW to 2020** High School - 15U through 18U age groups

Program Description

Our In-House Teams are a great choice for beginning players looking to improve their volleyball skills and knowledge. The season will run for 12 weeks total. The first session will begin in mid November and end before Christmas. During this session, players will practice twice a week, and coaches will focus on teaching individual volleyball skills and building players' confidence on and off the volleyball court.

The second session will begin in January. During this session, players will be divided into teams, which will continue to practice once or twice a week, and coaches will introduce and develop team skills while also maintaining individual skills. Teams will also participate in Kidz Power tournaments (Juniors division only) and scrimmages with other In-House teams as well as some of our C1 travel teams.

Investment

Cost for the 2020-21 Carolina One In-House teams is $530 and includes all practices, scrimmages, half-day tournaments, coaching fees, jersey, shorts, and t-shirt. The program fee is payable in two installments of $265 each, or a discounted lump sum payment of $500. If paying by installments, the first installment is due on the first day of practice in November and the second installment is due December 31. Jerseys will be distributed in late December or early January, following completion of the first session.

Schedule

The Carolina One In-House team program begins with an evaluation session, which is not mandatory but is encouraged. Our evaluation session is designed to help us determine the correct number of teams in each division. We do not cut players from our In-House teams, but if we do not have at least 8 players in a particular age group, we may not be able to field a team for those players.

Registration

There are four steps to register for an In-House Team. Registration will open September 20.

1. Register with Carolina One.
Make sure to choose the Greenville In-House Team program and your correct age division.
Once you choose the age division you want to sign up for, you will be asked to create an account in the Sports Connect system. If you have participated in any program with us in the last three years, you should have an existing account and can simply login. Otherwise you will need to create a new one. When registering, please set up the account under the person financially responsible for the account (parent or guardian). Once registered, you will be able to add family members to your account (players). After adding all children to your account, you will see available registration options for them based on their birthdates.

2. Print, complete and upload the USAV 2020-21 Medical Release form during C1 registration. You can scan or take a picture of the form once completed in order to upload it. This is mandatory to be able to participate in tryouts.

3. Register or renew your registration with the Palmetto Region. (registration opens Sept. 15). (see additional information below).
*NEW THIS YEAR: All players must initially sign up for a "Tryout Membership" ($15). Once you have committed to C1, you will receive an invitation through the SportsEngine system to associate your account with Carolina One in the USAV/SportsEngine system. After registering, please print your current year membership card OR save it to your phone. You will not be able to participate in any program without proof of a paid USAV membership

4. Review the C1 Club Policies for our In-House program. You will be asked to sign a commitment form agreeing to follow the C1 Club Policies when your daughter accepts a spot in the In-House program.

PLAYERS 8U to 18U

  • USAV has moved their membership system to SportsEngine - ALL players will need to register for a new account this year. We are no longer using Webpoint. One major difference is that accounts will be set up under the parent/guardian name, and players will be added to your "Household" once an account is created. This means siblings will now be in the same account!
    • Please note that if there are two adults in the same household that need to register for a membership, they will still need to have two separate accounts in SportsEngine, due to background check requirements.
  • All players must initially register and pay for a $15 "Tryout Membership". Even if you know the club/team you are joining, you will still need to purchase the tryout membership first and later upgrade. Once you have chosen a club, you will receive an invitation from the club to associate your account with theirs in the USAV/SportsEngine system. At that point, you will upgrade your membership to the full membership and pay the difference. Please note that this "tryout membership" is separate from any tryout fees that clubs may charge.
  • You MUST register AND PAY for your tryout membership before you tryout with ANY club.
  • Special membership categories:
    • 8U and younger - Free LIMITED membership. This membership is appropriate for players who will be participating in a program in which they will play IN-REGION only. For C1, this membership is appropriate for our In-House program members who fall in the 8U and younger age categories
    • 9U-11U - $15 LIMITED membership. This membership is appropriate for players who will be participating in a program in which they will play IN-REGION only. For C1, this membership is appropriate for our In-House program members who fall in the 9U-11U age categories.
