About EliasElias Valentin is a graduate of Lees-McRae College, where he was a member of the men's volleyball team. He currently serves as the assistant varsity coach at Hillcrest High School. In 2010, he helped the team to an appearance in the Upper State championship. In 2009-10, Elias served as the head coach of Carolina One 17 Blue Greenville team, leading the team to an 8th place finish at the Palmetto Region Championships. The 17 Blue team also finished tied for 35th at the Big South Qualifier, the highest finish for any Carolina One team. In 2010-11, Elias served as head coach of the 14 National team, leading the team to tournament championship at the Myrtle Beach Kickoff Classic, as well as a 9th place finish at the Northeast National Qualifier in Baltimore, MD. Elias received his USA Volleyball IMPACT certification (Increased Mastery and Professional Application of Coaching Theory) in November of 2009. He then received his USA Volleyball CAP (Coaching Accreditation Program) Level I certification in May of 2010. This is his fourth year coaching in the Palmetto Region.
