C1 National Program

Overview

Carolina One National teams are elite teams offering the highest level of competition and expecting the highest level of commitment. Teams will be composed of 10-11 players, a head coach and an assistant coach. Teams will practice six hours a week, and will compete in 8-9 multi-day tournaments during the season, primarily outside of the Palmetto Region, including at least one National Qualifier. The national team season runs from tryouts in October/November to late April. Select national teams may continue to practice and compete in the AAU National Championships in June, dependent on player and parent commitment, at an additional cost.

Investment

Cost for the 2011-12 Carolina One National teams is $1500 and includes all team practices, position practices, QSA training, coaching fees, gym fees, 9-10 tournaments, region registration fee, 3 jerseys, 2 pairs of spandex, socks, sweats/warmups, backpack, and 2 t-shirts. Fees do not include travel expenses such as hotels, gas or food. Program fee is payable in five installments of $300.

Schedule

Tryouts for the 2011-12 National teams will begin in late October. Team practices will begin in November and tournaments will begin in January. Players can expect to attend 2-3 tournaments per month, and can expect to travel over holiday weekends including MLK, President's Day, spring break and Easter.

Carolina One National teams compete in a true national team tournament schedule, which sends our teams outside of the Palmetto Region to compete in 8-10 tournaments in Atlanta, Myrtle Beach, Charlotte, Raleigh, Knoxville, Nashville and other strong volleyball hubs across the U.S. Carolina One National teams compete in one or two National Qualifiers per year, depending on the USA Volleyball and Palmetto Region schedules. Select National teams may elect to continue competition through late June at the AAU National Championships or USAV National Championships, at an additional cost.
